It's not all fun and games in paradise, but the rewards are well worth the effort.
Prerequisites
- PADI Divemaster rating or qualifying certification from another certification organization
- At least 18 years old
- Have 60 logged dives, including night, deep, and navigation dives
- Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months
If you set your sights close to home and aspire to work at a local dive center, you can make it a full time career or a great part time job! There's a sense of pride sharing something you are passionate about. You help others enrich their own lives by experiencing the adventure of diving.
The PADI Assistant Instructor course is gives you the training you need to gain additional experience as a PADI Professional and introduces to the PADI System of diver education.
Once you are a certified Assistant Instructor (AI) you’ll be qualified to:
- Teach academic presentations under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
- Evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
- Teach the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course
- Teach Project AWARE Specialty courses
- Conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences
- Teach Emergency First Response after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course
Within a minimum 3 day time span we will be covering:
- Knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations
- Confined water skill review and assessment, workshops and presentations
- Open water workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations
