Want to learn SCUBA diving during your next vacation? Don`t waste time during your vacation doing classroom work and spending time in the pool! You can complete all your classroom and pool sessions before you leave so you will be ready to jump in the ocean the day you get to your destination! We will arrange all the paper work and refer you to one of our partners literally anywhere you go!

What do I need to start?

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. You must be older than the age of 15 to begin the PADI Open Water Diver program. For those of you who are not above the age of 15 and would like to participate in the PADI Open Water Diver Program, then the PADI Jr Open Water Diver program is available to you.
The UBC Aqua Society has committed itself to ensuring that your safety is our top priority. We are dedicated to low student to instructor ratios so you get lots of time for fun and practice, not only in the pool, but also in the Ocean.

Course format is broken down into 3 segments, dive theory, confined pool sessions and open water sessions. Our course dates consist of 3 class sessions that start at 6pm and end at 10pm“ish”. We’ll review a knowledge review that has already been completed at home, write a quiz, and then head over to the Aquatic Center for some skills and lots of games in the pool for 1 - 1.5 hrs.
