For this club dive we will be focusing on another great site in our own backyard. A little further than Whytecliff, not as far as Porteau Cove. Kelvin Grove is a wonderful jewel for diving. This site offers restrooms, paid parking and is divided into two magnificent dive sites. There is a bay, shallow and sheltered, easy entry, no surface swim. I myself had a great experience on that side with tons of Jellyfish (like thousands of moon jellies)! There is also a wall, Kelvin Grove is famous for that wall. Two entries are possible for the wall, one entails walking on big steps and wobbly logs followed by a small surface swim, the other one starts at the gently sloping beach with a longer surface swim (but not Granthall long)!!! There is tons of life here and you don’t have even have to go very deep to see it! The same wall will show you great assortment of life at 45 feet and at 90 feet – different life, but still very plentiful. You can see dogfish, Wolf eels, canary rockfish, tiger rockfish, sculpins, greenlings, starfish, sea urchins and big lingcod!
As always a BBQ will be organized and rentals are 50% off for members!
