Skin diving is snorkeling while making breath-hold dives to observe aquatic life, up close and personal. It’s a great way to explore the underwater world when you’re not able to scuba dive or if scuba diving just isn’t your thing. The PADI Skin Diver course teaches you how to enjoy watching life below the surface and comfortably venture underwater for short visits, whether you dive in a local freshwater lake or the big blue ocean, at home or on holiday at a dive destination.
Who should take this course?
If you’ve always wanted to take your first steps to exploring the underwater world, this is where to start! Explore shallow waters from the surface and diving below to a maximum depth of 5 meters. Learn breath hold techniques that allow you to explore underwater and observe aquatic life up and close. This course is designed for the cooler waters of British Columbia. Explore Howe Sound and rocky shores around Vancouver.
The PADI Advanced Snorkeling course teaches you about:
- How to choose, adjust and use skin diving equipment.
- Basic safety guidelines for being in and around the water.
- Snorkeling and skin diving techniques including checking buoyancy, surface swimming, clearing water from your snorkel and performing effortless surface dives.
To get the most out of your course, it is recommended that you bring or purchase your own mask and snorkel.
Whats Included with Your Course:
- Advanced Snorkeling knowledge development presentation
- Confined Water Session to develop required skills
- ALL RENTAL EQUIPMENT IS INCLUDED – This includes wetsuit, fins, basic mask + snorkel, weight belt (if needed).
- PADI Advanced Snorkeler Certification & Fees.
- 3 hour boat charter in Howe Sound
- Snacks and hot drinks between sessions.

Must be at least 8 years old
You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health.
